Built for karateka who values traditional training, the HASHA Custom Makiwara is designed to develop true striking power, precision, and spirit. Crafted from FAS Lumber each board provides exceptional strength, resilience, and consistent flex, creating the ideal balance of resistance and feedback for effective makiwara training.

The natural flex of hand selected material replicates the feel of traditional makiwara in Japan, helping practitioners refine technique, improve alignment, and gradually condition the hands, wrists, and body for powerful, controlled strikes.

Rooted in the traditions of karate yet built for modern training environments, the HASHA Custom Makiwara is more than equipment, it is a daily training partner on the path to mastery.

Whether installed in a dojo or home training space, the HASHA Custom Makiwara is durable, reliable karate training equipment built for serious martial artists.

Train your focus. Temper your power. Strike with purpose.

Mounting Instructions

Each HASHA Custom Makiwara comes pre-assembled with a heavy-duty Z-Hanger mounting system installed on the back of the board for quick and secure installation.

Wall Mount Installation

  1. Select a mounting location

    • Choose a solid wall surface capable of supporting repeated striking forces.

    • For best results, mount directly to wall studs or other structural framing members.

  2. Install the wall-side Z-Hanger

    • Using a level, position the included wall-side hanger at the desired height.

    • Secure the hanger using appropriate fasteners for your wall type.

  3. Hang the Makiwara

    • Lift the HASHA Custom Makiwara and align the pre-installed rear hanger with the wall-mounted hanger.

    • Lower the board into place until both Z-Hangers fully engage.

  4. Verify installation

    • Ensure the makiwara is securely seated before training.

    • Apply light pressure to confirm proper engagement.

Alternative Mounting Methods

The HASHA Custom Makiwara may also be mounted to a beam, post, column, or tree using heavy-duty bungee cords, resistance bands, or rubber tubing, as shown in the product photos.

This method offers a portable training solution and allows the natural flex of the makiwara to be adjusted by varying the mounting tension. When using alternative mounting methods, ensure the support structure is stable and that all cords or tubing are securely fastened before training.

Important

  • Always mount to a structurally sound surface or support.

  • Inspect mounting hardware, cords, and attachment points regularly.

  • Replace worn or damaged mounting components immediately.

  • Installation and safe use are the responsibility of the purchaser.

The HASHA mounting system provides flexibility for both traditional dojo environments and modern home training spaces, allowing you to train wherever your practice takes you.
