Our Story

The name HASHA (覇者) is often translated as "champion" or "one who prevails."

For founder Kenichi K. Shiba, however, its meaning extends far beyond victory. Through decades of training in traditional karate and years spent in Japan, he came to understand that the most respected martial artists are not defined solely by titles or achievements. They are defined by their character—humility, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to self-improvement.

During his time in Japan, Kenichi had the privilege of learning from exceptional instructors, competitors, and mentors who embodied the true spirit of Hasha. Their example shaped his understanding of Budo—not merely as a system of techniques, but as a lifelong path of personal refinement.

Over time, he came to believe that the principles cultivated through martial arts should not remain confined to the dojo. Discipline, respect, courage, and continuous growth are values meant to guide every aspect of life.

From that belief, HASHA was born.

Today, HASHA exists to honor the traditions of Japanese martial arts and to inspire practitioners to carry the spirit of Budo beyond training. True victory is not found in overcoming others, but in the lifelong pursuit of becoming a better version of oneself.

私たちの物語

**HASHA（覇者）**とは、「勝者」や「頂点を極める者」を意味する言葉です。

しかし、創業者である柴健一にとって、その意味は単なる勝敗を超えたものです。長年にわたる空手修練と日本での経験を通じて、真に尊敬される武道家とは、肩書きや実績だけで評価されるものではなく、人としての品格、謙虚さ、忍耐力、そして絶えず自己を高め続ける姿勢によって形づくられることを学びました。

日本での修行期間中、健一は数多くの優れた指導者や競技者、そして人生の師となる方々と出会いました。彼らはまさに「覇者」の精神を体現する存在であり、その姿は健一の武道観に深い影響を与えました。

武道とは単なる技術や勝敗を競うためのものではなく、生涯を通じた人間形成の道である。そして、そこで培われる規律、礼節、勇気、そして自己研鑽の精神は、道場の内外を問わず日々の人生に生かされるべきものであると考えています。

その信念から、HASHAは生まれました。
